1. Your Statutory Rights
As a consumer purchasing from a UK-based retailer, you are protected by the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. Nothing in this policy affects or limits those rights.
In plain terms, this means:
• You have the right to cancel most online orders within 14 days of receiving them, without giving a reason.
• If goods are faulty, not as described, or not fit for purpose, you are entitled to a repair, replacement, or refund.
• These rights apply regardless of whether items are on sale or purchased with a discount code.
2. Right to Cancel (14-Day Cooling-Off Period)
You have the right to cancel your order and return items within 14 days of the day you (or someone you nominate) receives the goods. You do not need to give a reason.

Please include your order number and confirm you wish to cancel. We will acknowledge your cancellation by return email.
Returning the Goods
Once you have notified us of your cancellation, you must return the items within 14 days. Please send them to the address we provide in our acknowledgement email.
Items must be returned in their original condition: unworn, unwashed, unaltered, with any tags still attached. We reserve the right to deduct from your refund an amount reflecting any diminution in value of the goods caused by handling beyond what is necessary to assess their nature, characteristics, and function.
Return Postage
You are responsible for the cost of return postage unless the item is faulty or we sent you an incorrect item. We recommend using a tracked service, as we cannot be responsible for items lost in return transit.
Your Refund
Once we receive your returned items and confirm they meet the return condition requirements, we will refund:
• The full product price.
• The standard delivery charge you paid on the original order (we are not obliged to refund upgraded or express delivery costs).
Refunds are issued to your original payment method within 14 days of receiving the returned goods.
3. Faulty, Damaged, or Incorrect Items

If we have made an error or your item arrives in an unsatisfactory condition, we will resolve it promptly and at no cost to you. |
Please contact us within 30 days of receiving your order if:
• your item arrives damaged or defective;
• the item received does not match what you ordered (wrong design, size, or colour);
• there is a print quality issue such as significant misalignment, fading, or incomplete printing.
How to Report an Issue
Email hello@modernstandard.life with the following:
1. Your order number.
2. A clear photograph of the item showing the fault or issue.
3. A brief description of the problem.
We will assess your report and respond within 2 business days. Where the fault is confirmed, we will offer you a free replacement or a full refund — your choice. You will not be required to return faulty items unless we specifically request this.
Minor variations in print placement, garment shade, or texture that fall within normal manufacturing tolerances do not constitute a fault. Where this is the case, we will explain this clearly.
4. Items That Cannot Be Returned
For hygiene and product integrity reasons, we are unable to accept returns of items that have been:
• washed or tumble dried;
• worn (other than briefly to assess fit);
• altered, customised, or embellished after purchase;
• returned without tags where tags were originally attached.
Additionally, the 14-day right to cancel does not apply to:
• items made to your personal specification or clearly personalised (for example, where you have submitted custom artwork or personalised text). Standard catalogue products sold via modernstandard.life are not treated as personalised for this purpose.
These exclusions do not affect your rights in respect of faulty or incorrectly supplied goods.
5. Exchanges
We do not offer direct exchanges. If you would like a different size or design, please return your original item under the returns process above and place a new order. This ensures the fastest turnaround and guarantees availability of your preferred item.
6. Refund Processing
All refunds are returned to the original payment method used at checkout. We do not issue refunds by cash, cheque, or to a different card or account.

Once a refund is issued by us, your bank or card provider may take a further 3–5 business days to credit your account. This is outside our control.
